Attending therapy is a personal choice. Therapy is a powerful tool that alllows individuals to heal from trauma, make life decisions, manage their mental health, improve relationships, etc. Whatever the reason, seeking therapy will assist in learning how to cope, manage symptoms, and respond in ways that you may not have been able to do individually. 

Genesis Outpatient Services, LLC offers a variety of therapy  services including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.

During your first session, your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process. Your goals for therapy and a schedule will be discussed if you plan to move forward.

A therapy session typically lasts for 45-53 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences.

Therapist do not prescribe medication. Medications can only be prescribed by MDs, PAs, and NPs. If medications are a concern, referrals can be made to your PCP and/or mental health psychiatrists or NPs in the area. 

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between the client therapist relationship. No information is disclosed or exchanged without written permission from the client. Some exceptions include: suspected abuse of child, dependent adult, or elder adult or if the client threatens serious harm to self or others.
